Make Pages for Busby Contest not for Google
June 9, 2008 – 10:40 amAfter reading the latest Matt Cutts post about Improved SEO documentation, I have little bit idea to update my seo contest page. Matt Cutts said on his post, all webmaster should make a website for their visitor, and don’t be webmaster which their websites/pages are created only for search engine, specially for Google.
Since the Busby contest has opened on early of this month, many of contestants make a pages/blogs/posts as fast as they can. They want to be on front page of Google and they do anything. Some contestant blog post make a story that not related contest and some posting have images with ALT attribute anchor Busby SEO Challenge.
Want to see what they have do ? open Google Images search on your browser then type: Busby SEO. The image search results dominating with beautiful girls.
Considering of this, Google Robot crawling the images which have size more than 100×100 pixel. And Google cannot recognized what images about at least it has ALT attribute. See the Matt post about how to ALT attribute on images to understanding what ALT is. Note, on the Matt video, he missed describing ALT as tags, it should be an attribute.
Conclusion: If you want Google love your website, make sure your page visible both for human and Googlebot. Include images as the content is better than just text. Placing ALT attribute on you images better than not. Make sure you put ALT images on images that have size more than 100×100 pixel.
This just a tip you could follow it or not.
